  1. Eat local produce and fresh ‘catch’! Learn the top ten reasons why at www.buyfresh.org
  2. Support local farmers! Shop at the Cape Ann Farmer’s Market on Thursdays at Harbor Loop.
  3. Ask where your food comes from! Request local options.
  4. Grow food! Plant a vegetable plot or container in your own yard. Check out www.earthbox.com. Go to Goose Cove Gardens or Wolf Hill.
  5. Invest in a farm! Buy an annual share at a Community Supported Agriculture Farm. Go to www.localharvest.org/csa to learn more.
  6. Encourage your kids and teens to learn how to grow food!  Look into Green Thumbs or The Food Project – North Shore’s summer Programs.
  7. Plant a row for the food pantry! Check out www.gardenwriters.org/par/ and www.foodpantry.org
  8. Volunteer at an organization that strengthens the local food system! Learn about Food Connections partners at www.sustainablecapeann.org
  9. Stay on the up and up about local food efforts on Cape Ann! Sign up for Sustainable Cape Ann’s newsletter & Food Connections updates.
